Jewellery Repair

Our qualified jewellers are able to repair pieces in gold, silver and platinum at our on-site workshop.

Our standard repair service turnaround is five working days. If time is an issue, we can offer an express 4 hour service on certain repairs by appointment only. Jewellers are on-site Monday to Friday.

Please note that we do not repair watches, base metal items (anything that's not silver, gold or platinum), or non-jewellery items.

Below are some of the services we offer. The prices are indicative only, and each piece of jewellery needs to be inspected at our workshop in order for final quotes to be provided.

Ring sizing. The price to resize a ring depends on the type of metal, and whether it's being made larger or smaller. Typically, to size a yellow gold ring down is $80, a white gold ring is $160 (including rhodium plating), and a platinum ring is $130.

Sizing up is the same charge as sizing down, plus a per-size fee for metal added. Typically 9ct is $30 per size, 14ct $40 per size, 18ct yellow/rose gold $45 per size, 18ct white gold $50 per size, platinum $70 per size.

– Re-tipping claws. Re-tipping a single claw generally costs $70 in gold, or $99 in platinum. There's an economy of scale for multiple claws; $40 - $55 each in gold, and $55 - $77 in platinum, depending on the size. Larger claws require more metal and, therefore, cost a little more.

– Tightening loose gemstones. Gemstone tightening generally costs $60 per stone.

– Chain repair. Most straightforward chain repairs are $50 per breakage.

– Insurance Valuation. Insurance valuations are done independently through a company that specialises in insurance valuations. Please allow 1-1.5 weeks. Standard fees are:

Plain Gold Item: $85

Gem-set Item: $135

Watches: $155-$175

Update of valuation previously done by Jewellery Valuers Company: $60

– Clasp repair and replacement. If a clasp is repairable, we will consider the cost of repairing it versus adding a new clasp. The cost of a replacement clasp depends on the size and the style of clasp, and the type of metal.

– Restoration of antique jewellery. We are always happy to assess and restore antique jewellery where possible. The best way to get started is to bring your piece into the workshop and one of our team members will advise what work needs to be done. In some cases, we may require you to leave your piece with us for further assessment and quotation.
